Disclosure & Disclaimer
The information provided on this website is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to constitute, and should not be relied upon as, tax, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, legal, financial, investment, business, consulting, or other professional advice.
Tax laws, accounting rules, financial circumstances, business structures, and individual situations vary significantly. Information that may be appropriate for one person or business may not be appropriate for another.
Before making any tax, financial, accounting, payroll, business, or other significant decision, you should consult directly with Litherland Tax & Accounting Services, LLC ("LTAS," "we," "our," or "us") and, when appropriate, your attorney, financial advisor, investment advisor, or other qualified professional.
No Professional Relationship Created
Accessing or using this website, submitting a contact form, scheduling an appointment, uploading or providing documents, communicating with LTAS, requesting information, receiving a preliminary estimate or quote, or making a payment does not, by itself, establish a CPA-client, accountant-client, advisor-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.
A professional relationship with LTAS is established only after LTAS has affirmatively agreed to provide the requested services and all applicable engagement requirements have been satisfied. These requirements may include, but are not limited to, execution of an engagement letter or other required documents, completion of questionnaires or organizers, identity verification, submission of requested records, payment of retainers or deposits, establishment of payment arrangements, and completion of applicable onboarding requirements.
Unless LTAS has expressly agreed in writing to provide a particular service, no person should assume that LTAS has accepted responsibility for a filing, deadline, tax matter, accounting matter, government notice, payroll obligation, or other professional matter.
LTAS reserves the right to decline or terminate an engagement, subject to applicable professional, ethical, contractual, and legal obligations.
No Guarantee of Service Acceptance
LTAS reserves the right to accept, decline, postpone, suspend, limit, or discontinue services when appropriate.
This may include circumstances involving matters outside the scope of our services or professional expertise, conflicts of interest, incomplete or inaccurate information, missing records, unreasonable deadlines, lack of client cooperation, nonpayment, abusive or inappropriate conduct, ethical concerns, legal or regulatory restrictions, failure to complete required onboarding procedures, or services booked under an incorrect service category.
Submission of documents, scheduling of an appointment, payment of a consultation fee, or prior use of LTAS services does not guarantee acceptance of any future engagement.
Website Information
LTAS makes reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information. However, tax laws, accounting standards, payroll regulations, agency guidance, government procedures, court decisions, software requirements, filing rules, and other regulations are subject to frequent change.
Website content may therefore become outdated and may not reflect the most recent laws, regulations, administrative guidance, or professional standards.
LTAS does not represent or warrant that information contained on this website is complete, error-free, current, or applicable to any particular person, business, or situation.
All website content is provided "as is" and may be changed, updated, supplemented, or removed at any time without prior notice.
Website content, service descriptions, pricing information, forms, newsletters, blog posts, FAQs, emails, social media posts, educational materials, and general communications should not be relied upon as a substitute for personalized professional advice.
Consultations and Appointments
Consultations and appointments are limited to the service selected at the time of scheduling, the stated purpose of the appointment, and the allotted appointment time.
Complimentary consultations are generally intended to determine whether LTAS may be an appropriate fit for a prospective client's needs. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, complimentary consultations do not include detailed tax planning, tax projections, entity analysis, bookkeeping cleanup, accounting reconstruction, payroll analysis, tax resolution, IRS or state representation, document review, research, written opinions, or other billable professional services.
Paid CPA Consultation & Advisory appointments provide professional guidance based upon the facts, documents, and information reasonably available at the time of the consultation.
A consultation does not constitute an agreement to prepare a tax return, perform bookkeeping, provide payroll services, represent a client before a taxing authority, conduct research, prepare written advice, or perform any other ongoing professional service unless such services are separately accepted by LTAS.
Additional research, document review, calculations, written analysis, tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, representation, follow-up work, or other professional services may require a separate engagement and additional fees.
Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for providing LTAS with complete, accurate, truthful, and timely information and documentation.
LTAS may rely upon information provided by clients, their representatives, financial institutions, payroll providers, accounting software, government agencies, tax authorities, third-party service providers, and other sources without independently auditing or verifying that information unless verification is required by applicable professional standards or LTAS determines that additional inquiry is necessary.
Clients remain responsible for reviewing information supplied to LTAS and notifying us promptly of any errors, omissions, changes, or inaccuracies.
LTAS, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives are not responsible for delays, penalties, interest, notices, additional taxes, rejected filings, amended filings, missed opportunities, processing delays, or other consequences arising from incomplete, inaccurate, untimely, altered, omitted, misleading, or incorrect information provided by a client or third party.
Clients are also responsible for responding promptly to LTAS requests for information, documents, approvals, signatures, and other items necessary to complete the engagement.
Electronic Communications & Client Portal
LTAS utilizes electronic communications and technology, which may include telephone, email, text messaging where appropriate, video conferencing, electronic signatures, secure client portals, scheduling platforms, payment processors, cloud-based software, and other digital systems.
Although LTAS takes reasonable measures to protect confidential information, no method of electronic communication, internet transmission, electronic storage, or third-party technology can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available.
By communicating electronically with LTAS or using an LTAS-designated electronic platform, clients acknowledge the inherent risks associated with electronic communications and internet-based services.
Whenever requested by LTAS, clients agree to transmit tax documents, financial records, personally identifiable information, and other confidential materials through the secure client portal or another method designated by LTAS rather than through unsecured email or other nonapproved communication methods.
Use of the LTAS client portal may be required for certain services and for the secure exchange of confidential information. LTAS reserves the right to require portal use when we determine that it is appropriate to protect client information, maintain firm procedures, or comply with professional, ethical, legal, regulatory, or security requirements.
Clients are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of their usernames, passwords, authentication methods, electronic devices, and account credentials. Clients should promptly notify LTAS if they believe their account, credentials, email, device, or portal access has been compromised.
LTAS is not responsible for delays, failed transmissions, unauthorized access, cybersecurity incidents, system outages, software failures, internet interruptions, lost communications, or similar issues arising from circumstances outside LTAS's reasonable control, including incidents involving third-party technology providers or a client's failure to safeguard credentials or devices.
Communications, Reviews & Public Statements
LTAS values respectful, professional, and constructive communication.
Clients are encouraged to contact our office directly regarding questions, concerns, billing matters, or service issues so that LTAS has a reasonable opportunity to review and address the matter.
Nothing in this Disclosure & Disclaimer is intended to restrict any individual's lawful right to express truthful opinions, provide legitimate feedback, communicate with regulatory authorities, or exercise any other legally protected right.
Clients and other individuals remain responsible for statements and information they publish or distribute.
Confidential tax information, personally identifiable information, private communications, financial records, or confidential information belonging to LTAS, our staff, other clients, or third parties should not be publicly disclosed without appropriate authorization.
False, knowingly inaccurate, defamatory, fraudulent, or intentionally misleading statements may be subject to applicable law.
Pricing & Service Fees
Any pricing, packages, estimates, starting rates, or fee information displayed on this website are provided for general informational purposes only and do not constitute a binding quote unless expressly confirmed by LTAS.
Fees may vary depending upon factors including, but not limited to, complexity, scope of work, transaction volume, record condition, missing information, deadlines, responsiveness, research requirements, additional schedules or entities, government correspondence, revisions, cleanup work, and additional services requested after an engagement begins.
LTAS reserves the right to modify pricing, provide customized quotes, require retainers or deposits, require payment in advance, request additional payments when the scope of work expands, or decline additional work.
Any engagement-specific payment requirements will be governed by the applicable engagement letter, invoice, proposal, or other agreement.
Third-Party Tools, Software & Links
LTAS may utilize third-party websites, applications, software, payment processors, client portals, payroll systems, accounting platforms, electronic signature providers, scheduling systems, video conferencing services, tax software, cloud-based services, and other technology in providing services.
LTAS may also provide links to external websites or resources for convenience or informational purposes.
Although LTAS seeks to use reputable service providers, we do not control third-party systems and cannot guarantee their availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices, performance, or continued operation.
LTAS, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives are not responsible for the content, policies, errors, outages, security incidents, performance, or actions of independent third-party providers except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
Use of third-party systems may also be subject to the provider's own terms of use, privacy policies, and security procedures.
No Guarantee of Outcome
LTAS strives to provide professional, accurate, and timely services based upon applicable professional standards and the information reasonably available to us.
However, professional services frequently involve judgment, estimates, interpretations of law, government processing, agency discretion, and circumstances outside LTAS's control.
LTAS therefore does not guarantee any particular tax refund, tax liability, tax savings, audit result, appeal result, IRS or state determination, agency response, processing time, filing acceptance, penalty abatement, financing result, business outcome, financial result, or other specific outcome.
Statements regarding possible results, estimates, projections, or anticipated outcomes are not guarantees.
Government Processing & Agency Actions
LTAS has no control over the processing times, correspondence practices, computer systems, staffing, policies, delays, decisions, or actions of the Internal Revenue Service, state taxing authorities, local taxing authorities, financial institutions, payroll agencies, or other governmental or third-party organizations.
Estimated processing times provided by LTAS are informational only and may change without notice.
LTAS is not responsible for government or third-party delays, lost correspondence, agency errors, processing backlogs, system outages, or changes in government procedures outside our reasonable control.
No Audit or Independent Verification Unless Specifically Engaged
Unless LTAS has specifically agreed in writing to perform an audit, review, compilation, agreed-upon procedures engagement, or another service requiring independent verification, our services do not include auditing or independently verifying information provided to us.
Tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, consulting, and advisory services should not be interpreted as an audit, examination, assurance engagement, fraud examination, or certification of the accuracy of information supplied by a client or third party.
