(LTAS) Tax Preparation Process
Our tax preparation process is designed to keep everything clear, organized, and secure. These steps outline what to expect during tax season and how to prepare before LTAS begins your return.
Seasonal tax preparation is available for current LTAS clients and new tax clients personally referred by a current LTAS client. Appointments may be offered in person, by phone, or by video meeting, depending on the service selected and availability.
🧾 Tax Preparation Process
At Litherland Tax & Accounting Services, we want your tax preparation experience to be as organized and straightforward as possible. The steps below explain what to expect from the time you schedule your appointment through the completion of your return.
Seasonal tax preparation is available for current LTAS clients and new tax clients personally referred by a current LTAS client.
📅 1. Schedule Your Appointment
Schedule your tax preparation consultation directly through our website. Once scheduled, you will receive a confirmation with your appointment details.
Appointments may be available in person, by phone, or by video meeting, depending on the service selected and availability.
🗂️ 2. Access Your Secure Client Portal
TaxDome is our secure client portal for exchanging tax documents, completing required forms, signing documents, and communicating throughout the preparation process.
Current clients may access their existing TaxDome account. New clients will receive portal access instructions from LTAS when appropriate.
📝 3. Complete the Required Steps
Before tax preparation can begin, you will need to complete all applicable requirements for your engagement.
These may include:
• Signing your engagement letter
• Completing the required tax organizer or questionnaire
• Uploading all requested tax documents
• Providing prior-year tax returns, if requested
• Paying any applicable retainer
Preparation cannot begin until the required information, documents, and applicable engagement requirements have been completed.
📤 4. Submit Your Tax Documents
Please upload your tax documents securely through TaxDome whenever possible.
Common documents may include:
• W-2s and 1099s
• Mortgage interest statements
• Brokerage and investment statements
• Business income and expense records
• Rental property information
• Prior-year tax returns, if requested
• IRS or state tax notices
• Any additional documents requested by LTAS
Clear PDFs or high-quality scans are preferred to help ensure documents are complete and readable.
🔍 5. Preparation & Review
Once all required information and documents have been received, our team will prepare your tax return.
If we need clarification or additional information, we will contact you through TaxDome or another approved communication method.
Once your return is complete, you will have an opportunity to review it before filing.
✍️ 6. Review, E-Sign & Pay
Before your tax return can be filed:
• Review your completed return
• Complete all required electronic signatures
• Pay your final invoice in full
• Complete any additional required filing authorizations
LTAS will not file your tax return until all required signatures and authorizations have been completed and your invoice has been paid in full.
📁 7. Filing & Completed Return
After all filing requirements have been completed, LTAS will electronically file your tax return when electronic filing is available and appropriate.
Your completed tax return and related documents will be made available through TaxDome or another method approved by LTAS.
📌 Important Information
Tax preparation rates shown on our website are starting rates. Final fees are based on the complexity of the return, required forms and schedules, number of states, business activity, organization of records, additional work required, and the overall scope of the engagement.
A retainer may be required for prior-year returns, amended returns, complex filings, business returns, or other matters requiring significant work before completion.
Please provide complete and accurate information and respond promptly to requests for additional documentation. Missing, incomplete, or delayed information may delay the preparation or filing of your return and may require an appointment to be rescheduled.
This is the version I would put on the website. It reads like a client process, rather than a collection of internal rules, while still clearly protecting LTAS and setting expectations.
